Our classes are small, which provides more teacher-student time. We teach daily Bible instruction and core foundation subjects using A Beka, Bob Jones, and Saxon Math programs. We offer enrichment classes that support our program in Art, Computers, Music, Library, Physical Education, Spanish, and Band. We use the Stanford Achievement for standardized testing. We are currently members of ACSI (Association Christian School International).

GRADE SCHOOL CURRICULUM
WCCS is a ministry that provides care, Christian training, academics, and social and emotional development for your child(ren). We emphasize learning to love God, oneself, and each other. We are committed to guiding and facilitating your child’s growth and development during these important years. We carefully have chosen the curriculum, which is designed to foster independence and positive self-esteem.
Your child(ren) will have hands-on experiences that will challenge thinking and creative experiences in Bible, Science, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Music, Art, P.E., Library, Spanish, and Technology. These experiences will be constructive and planned so that attention will be given to the specific needs of each child. We will encourage them to participate in planned activities.
Daily interaction with others will teach vital social and emotional skills that are needed to be successful and to do well in school. There will be field trips and guest speakers throughout the year to enrich your child first-hand.
The teachers and the children will work within the frame set by the administrative Staff and the School Board. The student/teacher ratio is small in order to encourage a close working relationship in the classroom.
Our grade school is an enrichment center for the children and their families. We believe that the staff and the families are partners in the developmental and educational process. We highly encourage parents to volunteer whenever possible.
Our teachers are trained, certified, dedicated, and Biblically committed. Our task is to equip your child(ren) spiritually and academically. Our staff will provide a warm, nurturing, and challenging environment in which your child can flourish.
All classes are available and open to students of both sexes. Discrimination based on sex or race of a student is prohibited. We use the A Beka, Bob Jones, Saxon Math, and Houghton Miffen Curriculum as our primary curriculum. We have integrated these programs to make sure we offer a well-rounded
program to meet the educational needs of your child.
We do look at the state SOL’s (Standard of Learning) to make sure we have covered areas such as Virginia History, for example. We feel our program will exceed guidelines so your child will be challenged and learn new skills. Children will be allowed hands-on experiences that teach skills and concepts needed. All students’ kindergarten through seventh grade will take the Stanford Achievement Test in the spring.

Milk is $.50 if bringing your own bagged lunch.

Before and After-Care Program
$3.00 per hour or any part of a 1/2 an hour.
*Before-Care Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. *(if child arrives at 8:10 or after, child stays in foyer with staff.)
**After-Care Hours: 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
**A fee of $1.00 per minute will incur if child is picked up after 6:00 p.m.

Holiday: Monday, July 5, 2010 - Camp/Office Closed
Hours: *Full day - 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Half day - 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Programs to choose from: (Payments due 1st Monday of each week or the first day your child attends of each week.)
5 Half Days - $120.00 per week 5 Full Days - $160.00 per week
4 Half Days - $110.00 per week 4 Full Days - $140.00 per week
3 Half Days - $100.00 per week 3 Full Days - $120.00 per week
No Summer Camp Activity Fee.

Current school balance must be paid in full prior to attendance to SC.
