FEEDING THE HUNGRY IN OUR COMMUNITY
'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."
(Matthew 25:37 ESV)
Working in cooperation with the Chesterfield Food Bank (http://chesterfieldfoodbank.org/), Webber Memorial Baptist Church has undertaken leadership of the monthly food distribution at Hopkins Elementary School (6000 Hopkins Road; North Chesterfield, Virginia 23234).
On the first Saturday of each month, Webber volunteers, working with a multitude of volunteers from other churches and organizations in the area, distribute food to hundreds of hungry families in our area.
This is a vital ministry aimed at assisting those who are undergoing financial hardship by providing food assistance where possible.
As the Chesterfield Food Bank says, "With your partnership, we are able to connect the individuals that are financially stuck, with the free services that are available in our community, to educate them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. By introducing them to the tools that they need, we can motivate them to be proactive in their future growth. Chesterfield Food Bank not only invests in the individual by meeting their immediate needs, we invest the time it takes to resolve the root issue that is causing the problem."
In addition to providing food assistance, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is presented and spiritual counseling is available to anyone who wishes to avail themselves of it.
You don't have to be a member of Webber to be part of this effort.
Anyone whose heart is in helping people is welcome to particpate.
